GENERAL INFORMATION
The WNCYSA helps advertise for a Youth Bowling Program ages 5-18 years old AMF Star Lanes. Star Lanes/AMF Bowling Center in Asheville is located at 491 Kenilworth Rd, Asheville, NC 28805. We provide advertising only, any questions regarding bowling formats and fees can be directed to AMF Star Lanes.
* Beginning this Winter Session the AMF Bowling Center will be taking back over the registration of the youth league. WNCYSA will still offer marketing assistance and outreach. More information will be released as we get closer to the winter session.
ALL BOWLERS AND SPECTATORS MUST FOLLOW ANY GUIDELINES OR SAFETY PROTOCOLS SET FORTH BY AMF BOWLING CENTER!
ABOUT LEAGUE
General: League Bowls on Friday Nights at 6:00pm. Pre and Post Bowling Options are also available.
Length: 10 Weeks
Cost: $10/week + $4 USBC Membership Fee - $104 Total Cost
a. Price includes, Awards, Shoe Rentals and Use of AMF Center Bowling Ball if needed during league bowling.
b. You will receive 2 Free games per week for practice, shoes not included during practices.
c. You will also be able to take advantage of discounted game prices and concessions during the season with your AMF Discount Card.
d. At this time we do not offer financial assistant opportunities for bowlers, but hope to do so as we grow the program and get involvement through local sponsors.
League Formation: January 7 , 2022 @ 6:00pm
a. This is an open bowling night and anyone that is interested in bowling can come and tryout the game prior to registering.
b. If you have bowled in the past and would like to bring a friend, there will be no charge this night for anyone bowling.
c. Make sure to be at the Center, as teams will be assembled and finalized.
Season Start: January 14 , 2022 @ 6:00pm
a. There will be a 30 minute Warm-up and Practice session starting at 6:00pm each week.
b. League Bowling will begin promptly at 6:30pm
c. Each team will compete against another team in Handicapped League Style bowling each week. Teams will bowl a 3 Game Set.
Divisions: We have 2 separate divisions ranging from ages 5 to 18 years old. Age is calculated on their age as of 08/01/2021.
a. Bumper Buddies (Ages 5 to 7)
i. This division will utilize the lane bumpers.
ii. Bowlers must be able to bowl the ball without utilizing the ball ramp.
b. Party Animals (Ages 8 to 18)
i. This division will not utilize the lane bumpers.
ii. Division will consist of 3 or 4 person teams (Bowlers per team may need to be adjusted based on the number of registered bowlers.)
iii. Teams can be mixed ages in this division.
iv. Handicapped scoring
v. You may select your own team or we will place your child on a team.
