Charlie Bullman Park Rebuild Project - Reopening of Park for approved limited use projected for Spring 2026Overview: With many questions arising in regards to Charlie Bullman Park and how individuals can help, we have supplied a little more detail below to help clarify details about the Park.
Charlie Bullman Park is not a City of Asheville park and is currently closed to the public. Limited access is available by request. WNCYSA, a volunteer-based non-profit, is responsible for all costs associated with rebuilding and maintaining the park for organized sports and general public use.
We understand the park has been used as a public park for many years, but since the City of Asheville no longer wanted to lease the property for a City Park, it is now considered private property. We are working with our insurance company to hopefully reopen the park, at some level, for general public use. Until rebuilding is complete and all necessary components are in place, the park will only be accessible by request during construction. We apologize for any inconvenience. - New LED lighting and steel poles - Material Only cost $175,000, Labor estimated at $75,000 - Total $250,000
- New wood poles and transfer existing antiquated lighting fixtures - $160,000
